Install Virtualbox Guest Additions on Fuduntu 2012_3

Fuduntu is a Fedora based Linux distribution and the new Fuduntu 2012_3 is now released. You can easily install Fuduntu 2012_3 as a virtual machine on Virtualbox. You may download Fuduntu 2012_3 ISO file if you don’t have it yet. Here I just want to share how we install Virtualbox Guest Additions on Fuduntu 2012_3. In this case, we are using Virtualbox 4.1.18 installed on Windows 7 64bit host machine.

How to install Guest Additions on Fuduntu 2012_3.

First we need to install kernel-devel package for Fuduntu. We can simply execute this command on Terminal to install kernel-devel

yum install kernel-devel-3.4.4-1.fu2012.i686

Wait until the downloading and installation process finished. When done, we can install Guest Additions.

Click Devices | Install Guest Additions on the Virtualbox window. Then on your Fuduntu virtual machine, open Nautilus and click the VBOXADDITIONS_4.1.18_78361. Then click Open Autorun Prompt

Then Click Run to start the installation. You will be asked to enter your root password

When done, reboot your guest machine and Virtualbox Guest Additions should be installed correctly and enjoy seamless mode on Fuduntu 2012_3
