Fuduntu 2012.3 on a Flash Disk
I am currently testing the new Fuduntu 2012.3 on a Flash disk. We can easily create a Fuduntu LiveUSB using Unetbootin or LiveUSB. Fuduntu is a simple Linux distribution based on Fedora Linux. Fuduntu is very easy to use and can use Fedora applications as well. On a normal installation, you will have some essential applications such as Chromium, Shutter, Shotwell Photo Manager, VLC, Banshee and some others. But, you won’t find any Office applications such as OpenOffice or any others.
Fuduntu 2012.3 comes with Avant window Navigator version 0.4.0 that is very useful to handle your opened window on a dock like system. Using AWN dock, you can see list of the opened window that you can access it anytime.
Even it was running from a Flash disk, Fuduntu 2012.3 seems does not affect it performance too much. I still can have all Desktop effects can run smoothly, Internet access goes fast etc. But, I still can’t find the way to make a persistent settings to my Fuduntu LiveUSB. I am using LiveUSB on a Debian Linux to create this LiveUSB and its not support persistent mode.
