Download and install PeaZip 4.5 on Ubuntu 12.04

PeaZip is a useful compression utility for Linux and also available for Windows as well. Here you can see how to download and install the latest version of PeaZip 4.5 on Ubuntu 12.04 precise pangolin. PeaZip project is an archiver tool that supports its native Pea archive format (featuring compression, split volumes, and flexible encryption and integrity check schemes) and other mainstream formats, with special focus on handling open formats. Full support: 7Z, 7-Zip sfx, Bzip2, Gzip, PEA, split TAR and ZIP.

How to install PeaZip on Ubuntu 12.04:

  • Download DEB Package for PeaZip
  • Open Terminal and “cd” to your download directory where you save the file: peazip_4.5.LINUX.GTK2-2_all.deb
  • Type the following command to install

sudo dpkg -i peazip_4.5.LINUX.GTK2-2_all.deb

  • When done, you can start using PeaZip
